How much does it cost to become an affiliate website of VicSearch?
Nothing, VicSearch will provide everything you need including a website if you don't have one.
How long does it take to present VicSearch UGLii FindTM from our website?
A new VicSearch UGLii FindTM website can be created from scratch within a few hours.
How much exposure will businesses receive that register through my website?
They will be exposed through over 50 business related websites that are already part of the Business Partner/UGLii
Find network of websites across Australia and that number is growing rapidly.
How much work is involved in running my organisation's Axuz Affiliation?
There is nothing to do at all. Like all affiliate systems, your organisation will be paid commissions when
businesses who have registered in our system through your website purchase services from VicSearch.
Is there a limit to the number of organisations that VicSearch will join as affiliates?
Yes. VicSearch has no interest in appointing too many affiliates. It is in the best interest of our affiliates
and Axuz not to have over saturation in geographic areas.
Once I have applied to have my organisation become an affiliate how long will it take to be accepted?
Your application to become an affiliate will be evaluated and you will receive a response within one workday.
Why is VicSearch keen to bring the business and industry organisations into the VicSearch system?
Most industry organisations have a local geographic focus or an Australia wide industry focus. This is very important
to most businesses because they usually have a geographic focus or an industry focus. The VicSearch online
directory allows your organisation to brand the directory as its own and enhance relationships within your members
and potential membership. The VicSearch system is a great relationship building system for your organisation
because you can invite businesses to visit your website and register for free.
Why should my organisation affiliate with VicSearch?
There are numerous benefits that are derived from having VicSearch online directory on your website. These
include significant revenue opportunities, creating new relationships with potential customers and greater exposure
of your website.
Why is an VicSearch affiliate relationship a long term revenue opportunity?
A business can only register once in the UGLii system. If the business registers through your organisation's
website, it cannot register again in another website connected to the VicSearch network. When a business that
has registered through your organisation's website purchases a service in our system, VicSearch must pay your
organisation a commission.
What evidence of my commission entitlements do I receive?
The VicSearch affiliate system presents you with a monthly report of all transactions. You can also access the
affiliate system online to see your accumulated entitlements and history of commissions at any time. It is very
transparent.
Which organisations will be accepted as a VicSearch Affiliate?
Business organisations including local chambers of commerce, specialist industry organisations, ethnic business
organisations and international (country to country) chambers of commerce are welcome to apply to become an affiliate.
What security does my organisation have in this relationship?
All affiliated organisations own their revenue entitlements in perpetuity. Providing your organisation displays the
system on the agreed website, it is entitled to the ongoing revenue stream and is protected by an agreement subject
to the courts of Victoria and Australia.
How is my organisation paid its commissions?
Our billing cycle is monthly and you can be paid by cheque or internet banking - it's up to you.
Do you expect my organisation to promote the VicSearch directory?
Yes we do, though there are no obligations to do so. Clearly the more businesses that register through your website
the stronger your relationship with those businesses will be and the larger your organisations ongoing revenue stream.
What are my organisation's legal obligations?
You must agree that the website you are showing the system on is mainly about business. You are not allowed to place
any material that is irrelevant to the system or that is pornographic, racist, defamatory, blasphemous or sexist on
the same site as our system.
Can I sell advertising around the system on my website?
Yes you can but it must be about products and services that are helpful to businesses. The revenue you make from
that is completely yours.
An affiliate arrangement is a contract. How can I see the contract?
You can see the contract by registering to view the VicSearch documents online. Although the contract is
executed online, you can download and print the contract at any time. You can also see the rates of commission that
VicSearch is offering now.
Can VicSearch alter the commission rates?
Once VicSearch has accepted your application for an affiliate deal the commission rates are set. The only way
you can alter that is if your organisation and VicSearch both agree then advise UGLii Find Australia Pty. Ltd.
of your agreement to vary the rates. The UGLii system sets the wholesale rates for services and your commission rates
are indexed to the wholesale price that VicSearch is charged for the services that businesses use. In other
words, if wholesale price of a VicSearch service go up by 5%, your organisation's commission goes up by 5%
automatically. If the wholesale rates go down your rates will go down. You will be given notice of any price
fluctuations.
My Australian organisation is a federation of state based organisations. Should I have one affiliate agreement
cover all my organisations or enter all organisations as individual affiliates?
Both ways are possible depending on your needs. While it may take a bit longer to establish each organisation as an
independent affiliate, we strongly recommend that you do that. The reasons are: -
- The system can deliver its maps to users that enter the system through each state organisation's website
focused on its state. Of course users can search anywhere in Australia.
- Your state branches can brand the system as their own. They are more likely to promote it to their members and
help their members benefit from it if it is branded as theirs and they are getting revenue from it.
- They can sell additional advertising to local advertisers on the same page that they present the system on. If
there is only one page nationally that limits the additional revenue opportunities.
- The VicSearch affiliate system treats each affiliate (organisation) as a separate profit center. This
means that you can quickly see which organisation the revenue and traffic is coming from (and perhaps reward your
management and marketing team on a success basis).
How can being affiliated with VicSearch help businesses in my organisation?
Many businesses struggle to understand the relevance of the internet to them - that is until they see the VicSearch
Affiliates online directory system. Our online directory presents business information geographically, which is what
most businesses require. Your organisation can provide every business in your organisation with valuable online
discovery at no cost. That discovery is not only through your website but through all websites that present the
system across Australia and eventually globally. Other intangible and important benefits include organisational
pride and self awareness, which always translates into more energy and enterprise in your organisation providing
greater benefits to your members.
We already have an online directory of our members. Why should we use the VicSearch system?
If you provide a directory service of your members already, you will know that: -
- Your existing directory is fairly difficult and expensive to keep up to date (business data on our system is
managed by the businesses themselves)
- Your existing directory gets limited exposure therefore delivers limited benefit to your members (our system
is now searchable on more than 50 Australian Business Websites from which 8.5 million page impressions are
delivered each month)
- Your existing directory has limited search modes (our system is a true spatial system and gives a simple
search process or advanced search processes)
The VicSearch system is updated directly by the business and presents incentives to businesses to keep their
information up to date. The system is completely automated and no investment is required by your organisation other
than presenting the online directory on your website pages.
Using the VicSearch system exposes your businesses through many websites not just your own.
VicSearch system has several search modes - all of which are truly spatial.
If we become VicSearch should we turn our existing directory off.?
Up to you. The VicSearch system has facilities that you can use to introduce your members to the system
without copying your database into the VicSearch system. You can leave you existing system running as long as you like.
We are a conservative organisation that don't like taking risks with something new?
The UGLii Find systemTM has been operating in Australia since 2002 providing services to Australian
businesses; so we have been around a long time in internet terms.
How do we benefit from free registrations submitted from our website to the VicSearch system?
A business can register through one website only, even though that business gets automatic exposure through
many websites. Once a business has registered in the system it is very unlikely they will delete existing discovery
information, deregister from the system and then register again with another affiliate. There is simply little
advantage for them in doing that. In other words, the VicSearch system presents your organisation with an
important opportunity to consolidate relationships with your members, establish new relationships with businesses
that should be your members and derive a significant revenue stream. That opportunity will diminish over time as
your members (and potential members) register through other organisations.
VicSearch system is very confident that most businesses within the Australian economy will register in the
system to gain free exposure. We are also confident that many will buy one or more of the various services the
system has to offer.
What services can our organisation make commissions from?
VicSearch system will pay you commissions on sales of: -
- UGLii Links - which is a link from a business's free UGLii (dot on the mapping system) to a businesses website.
We expect about half of all businesses will buy these services in time. Obviously the sales are limited by the
number of business that have websites but more than half of all business have websites and the proportion that
have them is growing steadily.
- Credentialing services - special services that are of most benefit to brand owning businesses
- Automated website building service - of benefit to businesses that do not have a website and does not require
an expensive hand built website. Also useful for businesses that currently have a website but want more webpages
than they can self manage.
If my organisation wants to cease to be a affiliate of VicSearch, what is the process?
Under the agreement you are required to give one months notice to VicSearch of your intention to cease
displaying the VicSearch system. Your commissions will cease from the next 15th day of the month.
